SCREENING OF BBC AFRICA EYE DOCUMENTARY: “DADI DADI CODEINE”

As part of its sensitisation and awareness campaign on the menace of drug abuse, GCC took the mandate to strengthen its campaign for the education of young girls and young married adolescents on the ills of drug abuse.

About 150 girls from various schools alongside some young married women were in attendance in Zaria at the screening of a BBC Documentary on drug abuse dubbed “Dadi Dadi Codeine” in Hausa.

A panel of discussants, chaired by Dr Mairo Mandara was set up after the screening to discuss and proffer solutions on drug abuse – a situation which has manifested to being a cankerworm, waging destruction in the lives of the youth in our society; the panel comprised of a religious leader, a woman leader of a locally based women community forum and other stakeholders present.
