NATIONAL HOME GROWN SCHOOL FEEDING PROGRAM

Girl Child Concerns (GCC) is one of MacArthur Foundation’s partners, working to promote accountability in the education sector in Kaduna State through active monitoring of the Home Grown School Feeding Programme (HGSFP) in the state.

GCC mobilises and facilitates the participation of gatekeepers and citizens in monitoring and instituting the process of accountability in the National feeding program in Kaduna State. This ensures appropriate fund utilisation and reduced wastages during the course of implementation.

GCC carried out the dissemination of findings in order to review progress and proffer solutions to gaps and challenges identified in the project implementation. The event had in attendance focal persons and monitors, as well as SBMCs, Traditional Rulers, Stakeholders, CSOs, CBOs, SMOs, Education Secretaries of the 6 LGAs where the monitoring takes place.

The conference was carried out to improve the administration of the project and serve as a guide for the government in making informed decisions on the viability and profitability of the intervention and also to improve services and canvass improvement in transparency and accountability in the program.
